Gillian Carver Headteacher

I was appointed to the role of Headteacher at St Ann’s from January 2002, having previously been in post as Deputy Headteacher. The school has changed enormously since then, particularly in terms of the growing school population and the students’ increasing complexity of need. My enthusiasm for the role of Headteacher and my sense as to what a privilege it is to be working with such interesting, responsive, fun-loving young people and their dedicated families has never diminished. Each day is a new challenge and a new learning opportunity, so that together we can achieve the best possible future life outcomes for each of our students.

Of course my task would be impossible without the support, skill, professionalism and enthusiasm of St Ann’s highly talented staff team, the wider multi-disciplinary team and the Governing Body. St Ann’s is extremely fortunate to have such hard -working, committed governors and a clerk, who together bring so many additional skills to the school. Equally importantly the Governing Body constantly challenges St Ann’s to be aspirational, innovative, evidence based and the best we can possibly be, for the benefit of all of our young people.
